Spunlace Fabric for Baby Wipes
100% viscose spunlace — soft, lint-free, and skin-safe. A wet wipe substrate supplier trusted by infant care brands worldwide.
Baby wipes demand the highest standards of softness, absorbency, and safety among all spunlace applications. The fabric contacts infant skin hundreds of times per day, so fiber choice and fabric construction directly affect end-product quality. SunLuner offers two production routes for baby wipe fabric: direct-laid (L3/L4) at 35-90 gsm for cost-effective production, or semi-cross laced (L1/L2) at 40-100 gsm for superior softness and cross-directional strength. Customers can freely choose the process and GSM that best fit their product positioning. The two dominant material options are 100% viscose (rayon) for maximum softness and biodegradability, or viscose-polyester blends for lower cost and higher wet strength. Pattern selection matters too: plain and small pearl embossing are the most common choices because they create a smooth surface that won't irritate delicate skin.

Which Series Is Right for This Application?
Honest comparison — including which series we do NOT recommend and why.
100% viscose with no plastic content. FSC-certified fibers. Delivers the softness and absorbency that baby wipes require. Fully biodegradable — an increasing requirement from major retailers.
Viscose + polyester blend. Lower cost per kilogram, but polyester content means the fabric is not biodegradable and may feel slightly less soft. Suitable for budget baby wipe lines where biodegradability is not a selling point.
Dyed viscose introduces colorants. Not suitable for baby wipes, which require white or natural-colored fabric for skin contact products.

Selection Checklist
Questions to help you decide — with our honest guidance based on production capabilities.
1What GSM should I choose for baby wipes?
GSM depends on your process and product positioning. Direct-laid (L3/L4): 35-90 gsm — lighter, more cost-effective. Semi-cross laced (L1/L2): 40-100 gsm — softer, stronger cross-direction. Standard baby wipes typically use 50-60 gsm. Choose based on your brand positioning and budget.
2Plain or embossed pattern?
Plain is the safest choice — smoothest surface, lowest risk of skin irritation. Small Pearl adds texture for better cleaning action. EF Pattern provides a balance of softness and strength. Avoid mesh patterns for baby wipes.
3Do I need 100% viscose or a blend?
Choose 100% viscose (Eco-Pure) if your brand markets natural, biodegradable, or plastic-free positioning. Choose a viscose-polyester blend (Pro-Clean) only if cost is the primary driver and biodegradability is not claimed.
4What width do I need?
Tell us your converting machine's rewind width. We slit to any width up to 320 cm. Common baby wipe jumbo roll widths are 200mm, 250mm, 300mm, and 360mm (for multi-lane converting).
5Can you provide test reports?
Yes. We provide GSM, tensile strength (MD/CD), absorbency, and lint test reports for every production batch. Fiber SDS and FSC chain-of-custody documents available on request.
