Spunlace Fabric for Industrial Wiping

High-strength viscose-polyester spunlace for industrial, automotive, and cleanroom wiping applications

Industrial wiping covers the broadest range of applications in the spunlace market: factory floor cleaning rags, automotive shop towels, electronics cleanroom wipes, and general-purpose industrial wipes. The common requirements are high wet strength, tear resistance, absorbency, and cost-efficiency. SunLuner's Pro-Clean series — a viscose and polyester blend produced on our direct-laid L3 and L4 lines — is engineered for these demands. The direct-laid (parallel) process creates a fabric with strong machine-direction orientation, which translates to high tensile strength when wet. The polyester content (typically 30-50%) provides dimensional stability and chemical resistance that pure viscose cannot match. For industrial wiping, the 35-100 gsm range covers everything from lightweight disposable shop towels (35-50 gsm) to heavy-duty multi-surface cleaning cloths (70-100 gsm).

Which Series Is Right for This Application?

Honest comparison — including which series we do NOT recommend and why.

Pro-Clean
High-Strength Cleaning Spunlace
Recommended

Viscose + polyester blend on direct-laid L3/L4 lines. Delivers the highest wet strength and tear resistance in our product range. Cost-effective for high-volume industrial accounts. Lint-free performance suitable for most industrial wiping applications.

Eco-Pure
100% Biodegradable Spunlace
Alternative

100% viscose is softer and more absorbent per gram, but lower wet strength than blends. Consider for light-duty industrial wipes or if biodegradability is a brand requirement. Higher cost per kilogram than Pro-Clean.

Color-Tech
HACCP Color-Coded Spunlace
Alternative

If industrial wiping also requires HACCP color coding (e.g., food manufacturing facility cleaning), Color-Tech provides both color coding and adequate strength. Semi-cross laced construction is slightly less strong than direct-laid Pro-Clean.

Safe-Guard
Flame-Retardant Functional Spunlace
Not Recommended

Flame-retardant treatment is unnecessary for standard industrial wiping. Consider only for welding-area wipes or high-temperature environment applications.

Certifications & Compliance

What we can certify — and what we cannot. Be specific in your procurement requirements.

ISO 9001

Quality Management System certified. Consistent basis weight, tensile strength (MD/CD), and absorbency verified per production batch.

Lint Performance

Hydroentanglement bonding (no chemical binders) produces low-lint fabric. For cleanroom applications, request our particle count test data. Pro-Clean in 18 Mesh or 22 Mesh patterns has the lowest lint release.

Chemical Resistance

Polyester content provides resistance to most industrial solvents, oils, and cleaning chemicals. Compatible with isopropyl alcohol, acetone, mild acids, and alkaline cleaners. Test with your specific chemical if uncertain.

Selection Checklist

Questions to help you decide — with our honest guidance based on production capabilities.

1Disposable or reusable wipes?

Disposable (single-use): 35-50 gsm, Plain or 10 Mesh pattern. Reusable (multi-use): 70-100 gsm, Small Pearl or 18 Mesh. The heavier fabric withstands multiple wash cycles in industrial laundry.

2What GSM for my application?

Shop towels / general wiping: 40-50 gsm. Automotive parts cleaning: 50-60 gsm. Heavy-duty industrial cleaning: 70-100 gsm. Electronics cleanroom: 35-45 gsm with 18 Mesh or 22 Mesh for lowest lint.

3Lint-free requirements?

True lint-free is impossible with any nonwoven, but our hydroentangled fabric achieves very low particle counts. For ISO Class 6-8 cleanrooms, use 18 Mesh or 22 Mesh patterns. For critical environments (ISO Class 5), we recommend our 22 Mesh in 35-45 gsm.

4Need absorbency data?

We provide absorbency rate (seconds) and capacity (g/g) test data per batch. Viscose-rich blends absorb faster; higher polyester content absorbs less but releases liquid more readily — useful for pick-up-and-wipe applications.

5Custom width for your converting line?

We slit to any width up to 330 cm on L3/L4 lines. Common industrial jumbo roll widths: 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm. Provide your rewind width and we'll optimize the cutting plan to minimize waste.
